Introduction:
Having
trouble with your router and can't figure out what's causing the issue?
Maybe you lost your password, or you want to fortify the security
settings from scratch? Either way, restoring the equipment to default
factory settings is a good catchall troubleshooting move! Any
personalized configurations will be lost, so it's an effective way to
wipe the slate clean and customize the internal network your office
needs.
Prerequisites:
1. Paperclip
2. Access to a Fortinet FortiWiFi 60D Firewall
Step 1
Identify the RESET access circular port in the back of the firewall
Step 2
Obtain a paperclip
Step 3
Make sure the device is unplugStep 4
Stretch the paperclip
Step 5
Connect the device to a power source
Insert the paperclip into the RESET access port at the back of the firewall. Make sure you have good control with your hand and finger to keep it in and be able to press it over and over again without coming out of the access port while the device is booting, until you see it flush all (each and everyone of them at once).
Step 6
Use a Mac or PC laptop with wireless capability to search for the default "fortinet" wireless SSID, when found click connect
Read the find print
Step 7
Connect using the following credentials: login name: admin password: <blank>, Press Enter.
Step 8
If it fails try again. Escalate if necessary.
